DJ Service~ Playing your favorites keeps your guests happy & the dance floor full!

A DJ who listens to you! We'll play the songs you want to hear, at the volume you prefer! We'll e-mail our DJ songlist so you can select all your favorites. Or, if you tell us your favorite recording artists, we'll take care of the rest. We've DJ'd over 1000 events and know the songs that will fill the dance floor! We usually start events with live piano music, then switch to DJ for dancing. For even more interest, we can add sax, flute or cello. Sometimes we'll begin a party with a jazz trio, and include drums. If there's no piano on site, we'll bring an electric, inside or out!

Piano~ For ceremonies, receptions or with a DJ!

A Dancing Penguin Music owner, Kim Ralphs, became a professional pianist at age 14. His styles include classical, jazz, swing, latin, new age and pop. He has performed in many of Portland's finest restaurants, with extended engagements in the Benson and Hilton Hotels lobbies. Kim often plays at Timberline Lodge, Lakeside Gardens, and at the Waverley and Oswego Lake country clubs. An electric piano is available, with mic and sound system, inside or out.

Duo~ Piano with sax, flute, cello!

Versatile duos for elegant occasions! We offer instrumental duos combining piano with sax, flute, cello, or drums. Lively cocktail music can be followed by beautiful, background dinner music. With the use of an electric piano, keyboard bass can be added for a trio sound. A sound system is available, with cordless mics. We will be happy to act as master of ceremonies and make announcements. Requests gladly.

Trio~ Jazzy background instruments, Swing, Latin, rock with vocals for dancing!

Sax, drums, piano with keyboard bass. Bandleader, Kim Ralphs, offers a versatile group that specializes in the elegant and sophisticated music of the 1940's & 50's. First, they'll set an elegant mood with tasty instrumentals from George Gershwin, Cole Porter, and Duke Ellington. For dancing, you'll enjoy their Big Band Swing, and sassy Latin versions of Glenn Miller and Benny Goodman. They also offer vocal tributes to Tony Bennett and Frank Sinatra.

This talented and experienced group has performed at hundreds of receptions and corporate events for over ten years. They are a regular feature at the finest hotels and country clubs. A Dancing Penguin Band with LaRhonda Steele - Band leader, Kim Ralphs, has assembled an exciting group of professional musicians that play a wide variety of popular styles. Usually they start as a trio with tasty jazz instrumentals, and the romantic love songs of Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra and Glenn Miller.

For dancing, add LaRhonda Steele, a dynamic and talented singer with exceptional stage presence. You'll know her roots are in gospel when you hear her sing the popular hits of Swing, Blues, R&B, Rock and Disco!

Ceremony Music~ Piano, Flute, Cello, Violin, Vocalists!

Beautiful and relaxing music will create the perfect atmosphere for your entrance. We offer solo piano, or we can add any combination of flute, sax, cello, etc. Classical, jazz, new age, or popular music, your choice. A portable electric piano and sound system can be set up inside or out. We can also provide a cordless lapel microphone for your minister. With hundreds of weddings performed, we have the experience to make yours a success.
