Weddings
& Unions Performing wedding ceremonies is an honor and a joy for me. As
an artist as well as a minister, I especially enjoy helping couples create a meaningful
ceremony. I believe the best weddings are the most personal, so I encourage you
to include your own words, wishes, vows, spiritual elements or personal symbolism.
As a result, the ceremonies I've performed since 1998 have been wonderfully diverse,
ranging in style from the more traditional to the very unconventional. Most are
non-religious, focusing on the couple and the community created by their wedding.
Some are very spiritual, from interfaith to non-denominational Christian. I am
licensed to perform weddings in Oregon and Washington and I welcome all couples
and respect all traditions.
Testimonials "It was
a pleasure meeting with you and developing our ceremony with you. Neither of us
can imagine a more beautiful and meaningful ceremony…perfect for the setting,
the day, and for us." -Elise & Ken "Thank you for everything! You were
so wonderful to work with and helped make it a truly lovely day." -Jennifer &
Eric "We want to thank you for helping to make our wedding such a sweet
and memorable occasion. The ceremony truly brought us closer together and it united
our families as well. There were many comments as to what a great choice of minister
you were." -José & Premhansa "Thank you for your guidance and wisdom in
leading us into this new chapter of our lives. We feel so blessed to have found
you and are so pleased with how everything turned out…You were perfect for us…and
we'll look back years from now and remember it as our perfect wedding." -Chris
& Jan "The words you helped us put together in the ceremony are words we
will always remember, and represented exactly what we wanted to say about our
life." -Heather & Justin "You were such a big part of the wonderful calmness
at our wedding. You made us both feel so at ease and comfortable with the day.
It was a treat to know you." -Matt & Jen Creating Your
Ceremony Creating your personal wedding ceremony begins with an initial
meeting to discuss ideas, answer questions, and give you some sample ceremonies
to take home. I think of these as templates, as a place to begin. You may use
the ceremonies as they are, or combine elements of them, or simply as inspiration
for your own ideas. At this point, if you decide to have me officiate your wedding,
we book the date and begin working together to create the ceremony that best expresses
your intentions. After we finalize the plans via phone, email, or personal meetings,
we do a rehearsal if necessary, and then, at last, the wedding. The fee for your
personalized ceremony is generally about $300, which includes meeting as many
times as you wish to develop your ceremony, filing the paperwork afterward and
being available throughout the process as a resource guide and support for you.
A rehearsal or travel outside of the Greater Portland area would be additional,
and the initial meeting is free of charge. Please feel free
to contact me for more information or to schedule a meeting. Congratulations and
my best to you. |
