Every couple is unique, with different needs, tastes and preferences. Your wishes for most any kind of rite will be accommodated--from traditional Christian to secular/nonreligious, to services with a Native American bend, Handfasting, or any combination you desire.
An initial consultation / get-acquainted meeting, either by phone, or in person, is offered at no cost or obligation to you.
Together we will find the words to help you create the spirit of your day, your way.
Pre-marriage Counseling Not Required
Pre-marriage counseling is available if you ask for it, but it is not required.
Last Minute Ceremony?
No problem, as long as I have room in my calendar. Last-minute ceremonies can often be accommodated--although please bear in mind that Oregon and Washington both require a three-day waiting period after you have purchased a marriage license.
Location, Location...
I serve the greater Portland Metropolitan and Vancouver area, and am happy to come to you. A small travel fee will apply for locations outside a 15-mile radius from my office.
If you don't have a location yet, I can help you with information on some very lovely places around the Portland metro area.
No-Frills Ceremony
Another option is offered for those couples who just want a simple no-frills "Justice of the Peace" or elopement type of ceremony, though much more warm and personal than what you could have at the courthouse. For small wedding parties, I am happy to marry the two of you in my office, which is set in a pretty, woodsy area on a creek. I will provide the required two witnesses, too, if you wish.
Domestic Partnerships
As of January 1, 2008, Oregon allows Domestic Partnerships. I'm pleased to assist in all kinds of ceremonies: commitment ceremonies, same-sex, vow renewals, baby blessings, as well as house blessings. If you have an idea of what type of celebration your heart desires, I would be pleased to help you create it.
